PC Controlled ovens: We built two of them:

  • One that can contain entire hulls, and can go up to 90 ºC (195 ºF). This enables us to postcure entire hulls at the required temperature, and also makes it possible to use a process that we might call "temperature controlled infusion", whereby the viscosity of the infusion resin is strongly controlled independent of the season.
  • The other one is constructed for spars. Three compartments can be used indepedently or can be chained together to a maximum length of 13 m (43 '). Process temperatures can go up to 150 ºC (302 ºF).Between the pictures on the left you can see the control interfaces.

Both oven can be controlled by up to 6 independently calibratable sensors. Moreover can every process be logged as fine as every 5 seconds. This brings us to the second feature of our quality control system.

Relational database : This enables us to:

  • Assign a unique ID to every single deliverd item.
  • To log the construction process of every single part that is made in our shop. Not only the needed construction materials and consumables, but also the type of construction process (hand-layup with or without vacuum, wet-layup with or without vacuum, infusion, pre-preg), process paramaters (look above), involved operators, date, time ...
  • Track back the total construction process of every single part that leaves our shop.

Between the pictures on the left you can see a few of the used database panels.
