Youri (°1960) after studying physical education and philosophy, worked consecutively as a systemadministrator (UNIX), machine constructor, software developer, system analyst, and restorer of wind- and watermills. Some years ago he returned to an old passion, fast sailing, but in first instance as a constructor. For him PC and CNC-milling machines should be used as much as possible in boatbuilding. He has a keen interest in and a sturdy foundation for CFD and FEA. He is constantly investigating how to make faster, lighter, stronger, but also more durable, and more beautiful sailing machines.
Myriam°(1957) has had an office job for years. When there were three children (Yana, Arvid and Yoram) she quit and became a full-time housewife and baby minder. The dream to build her own boat made her an active partner in Wangka. Started from nothing, but mastered nearly any boatbuilding skills possible. Daily she participates in sometimes lively discussions on how to make better boats and parts.
